This catalogue will act as a guide to help you in your search for each individual artwork. We have pixelated the images of each artwork to obscure complete familiarity when scrolling to find the works on the different websites. Each image has a corresponding website, on which to search for the works, using our 3 keywords (explained below and on our IG). Please remember to change the search area to 'Glasgow' on each site.
If, however, you would rather find them serendipitously, feel free to scroll through each platform and enjoy the variety of random objects which encompass the exhibits. You can then return to this catalogue at your leisure, using it as a scorecard after the discovery of each artwork. You may wish to find them all at once, you may wish to keep returning every few hours - this is entirely up to you but remember that after 24 hours the works will be taken down and the catalogue will transition to an archival memory. We would also encourage all who participate to provide feedback of the event, the form for which can be found under the 'feedback' tab in the menu above!
Keywords Explained
During a 24 hour period, from 4pm to 4pm on 5th-6th Nov 2020, a selection of artworks will appear, hidden in plain sight, across pre-existing platforms such as Gumtree, Depop, Etsy and eBay. The artworks will only be connected by the searchable keywords HANDCUFFS, WHISKEY and TELEPHONE. These three words are physical representations of the exhibition title (Restriction/Handcuffs, Intervention/Whiskey + Connection/Telephone). These searchable keywords reissue our focus on comparing an audience’s reception of work digitally and in situ.
You can use these individual words, HANDCUFFS, WHISKEY and TELEPHONE, to find each artwork on its individual shopping website! Just pop 1, 2 or all 3 of them into the search bar on each platform and get searching for the exhibit!
